How to operate the lab scale extruder?

Before testing, we have to check all the processing parameters. 

(1) Turn on the power, water supply, and air supply switch;

(2) Turn on extruder heating system, and keep heating for 20-30min after the temperature reaches their  set value, then start the extruder.

(3) Confirm the rotating direction of the motor before the first startup. Draw back the hopper and start the motor, then observe the rotating direction of the screw from the feeding port. The right rotating direction of the screw behaves in a counterclockwise manner observing from the end to the head of the screw. Otherwise one should exchange arbitrary two phases. 

(4) After confirming the right rotating direction, start the extruder with lower revolving speed for a while in order to verify that all the components are in their right position. 
Please shut down the extruder immediately once abnormal noise occurs during running. One can restart the extruder only when all the failures were fund out and removed. 

(5) Pull the test materials into the hopper and restart the extruder.
